Delivery is free to every country we ship to, and your order arrives within 3-7 business days in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, and within 3-10 business days in Denmark, France, Poland, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

We email you the carrier name and a tracking link as soon as your order is dispatched. In any event we will deliver within 30 days of your order. Full details are on our Shipping and Delivery page.

You have 14 days from the day you receive your order to change your mind, for any reason or none. Return shipping is free and you do not need our approval.

Email us at info@cedarplanters.nl with your order number within those 14 days. We send you a prepaid return label, or arrange collection at our expense for large items if you ask. You never need to find a return address or pay for shipping.

We refund everything you paid within 14 days of the goods reaching us, or of you showing that you have sent them, whichever comes first, to your original payment method.

You may open the box and handle the goods as you would in a shop, including assembling them to check they are what you expected. If they come back showing use beyond that — filled with soil, planted, stained or left out through the weather — we deduct the reduction in value from your refund and explain in writing how we worked it out.

By law we must supply goods that conform to the contract. If they do not, you are entitled to free repair or replacement, and if that is impossible or fails, to a price reduction or a refund. This legal guarantee lasts at least two years, and under Dutch law for as long as you may reasonably expect the goods to last.

On top of that we give a voluntary guarantee of 3 years plus 21 days on raised garden beds and planter boxes, and 1 year on other items, covering structural defects in material or workmanship. It is additional to your legal rights and never replaces them.

It does not cover cosmetic changes natural to cedar — small cracks, silvering, knot holes and weathering — or damage from misuse or alteration. Liners wear with use and are treated as a consumable part, so they sit outside the 3-year guarantee.

Email us at info@cedarplanters.nl as soon as you notice. If your order has not yet been dispatched we will correct it. Once it is with the carrier we may not be able to change the address, but we will do what we can — contact us and we will tell you the options.

Every order ships from our fulfilment centre in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands. Goods are imported and cleared before they reach you, so every EU delivery is a domestic or intra-EU shipment.

No. We deliver duty paid to all eleven countries we ship to, and all of them are inside the European Union. Duties and import taxes are settled by us before your parcel reaches you, so there is nothing to pay on delivery — no customs charges, no handling fees, no surprises at the door.

The price you see includes VAT at the rate of your delivery country, and the VAT amount is shown separately at checkout and on your invoice.

We powder coat our steel legs for a durable finish that resists chipping, scratching and fading better than liquid paint. Powder coating uses no solvents and releases very low levels of volatile organic compounds during application, and it needs no primer.

We use Western Red Cedar certified by the Western Red Cedar Lumber Association for all of our planters. It has a warm natural colour and grain, a distinctive scent, and it is naturally resistant to rot, which is why it suits an outdoor life in the Dutch climate.

The timber is untreated — no preservatives, stains or chemical treatments are applied — which makes it suitable for growing edible plants, since nothing leaches into your soil.

Cedar silvers over time and may develop small surface cracks. That is normal for the material and does not affect the structure.

Planting depth is 30 cm in every size.

Our planter boxes and raised garden beds have built-in drainage and good airflow, so adding river rocks or stones is not needed — and we would discourage it, because of the weight it adds.

If you want to reduce the amount of soil needed, add leaves, sticks or compostable material such as cardboard to the bottom. You can use the cardboard packaging your order arrived in.

Yes. We supply the tools and hardware you need, along with written instructions in the box and a follow-along video at cedarplanters.nl/pages/assembly.

Assemble on a level surface. Keep small fixings away from children under 3. Filled beds are heavy, so position yours before you fill it.
